		<description>Hi Garth,

Yes, one can easily get into the habit of doing the same thing. Once your body get used to the ritual, you can loose concentration. You will find that some sessions are much more purposeful than other times. Sometimes it might freel like you have completely failed. This is normal and you shuold not be discourage. I have found the following helps me to stay awake and focussed:

  1. It helps to find an additionl specific purpose for going into meditation, like people that requires spiritual help, people that are sick for instance, and I would specifically want to discuss this with Jesus or the Father at the end of my meditaion and project the healing power to them. This purpose, I will then constantly keep in the back of my head, realizing that I have to press in and stay connected to be able to get to this point during meditation.
      2. Preceed your meditation session with active prayer. Pray in tongues earnestly and purposefully to prepare your spirit and soul. This will be and indication to your soul that are preparing for meditation. Praying is you speaking to God, meditation is communion with God and listening to Him. People from non-Christian backgrounds that might not know how to pray in tongues, sometimes use some form of chanting to prepare themselves.
  3. Consider changing your body position. I used to lie down on my back in the beginning and it worked well for me. Then later I found that I have been able to teach my body to go into total relaxation and I also started dozing off. I usually did this late in the evenings before going to bed. I then changed my position to one of sitting more upright, but comfortably and relaxed. The change in body position helped me to stay more focused and reminding me of the purpose for doing it.
  4. I believe you should not try meditating while in bed. Your body and mind are used to that place as the place where the body and the mind goes to sleep. Rather go the same spot where your mind is conditioned that this is the place for meditation.
  5.  Here is a link I think you shouild visit to re-confirm some of the basics for deep meditation &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.edgarcayce.org/ps/deep_meditation_J_Van_Auken.html&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Deep Meditation Tips&lt;/a&gt;

We will talk again, keep up the good work.

		<description>Hi Again Brother,

I was wondering if you have any suggestions for me, I have been meditating with great success until recently. What I mean by great success is that I was able to stay awake and I was able to increase the amount of time I meditate for. Although I am not meditating for success per say, I at this time am meditating to find the Kingdom of our father. By simply focusing and repeating &quot;Father&quot;.

I usually meditate before going to sleep at night and when I wake up in the morning, but recently I am having trouble staying awake, and find myself dosing off, and then waking up and trying again and then dosing off etc etc.

Is there any advice you can offer to prevent this from happening, and is there another mantra you can offer for &quot;seeking the Kingdom of God&quot; during meditation?

Health and Happiness
